The Library Board meets the 3rd Thursday of all even number months.
Library Services
Any Girard Township resident is eligible to have a borrower’s card with proof of name and current residence address within the city limits. There is no charge for a Township resident to have a borrower’s card.
A borrower’s card must be presented each time a user wishes to borrow library materials or use public library equipment. Items accepted for identification include, but are not limited to, a driver’s license or identification card, passport, or cancelled mail received at the applicant’s address.
Persons living outside the Township may obtain a borrower’s card by paying a $35.00 fee and by providing proof of a permanent residence address.
BOOKS
The Library offers books of all genres and for all age groups. There is also a children's area as well as a Genealogy section.
AUDIO BOOKS ON CD
There is a section dedicated to Audio Books on Cd.
LARGE PRINT BOOKS
A large area is dedicated just to Large Print books.
DVD MOVIES
The Library has a wide selection of DVD movies that may be borrowed.
eBooks & Audio
cloudLibrary is a service that lets you borrow eBooks and content from our library.

MAGAZINES & NEWSPAPERS
We have some magazines as well as local papers available to read.
COMPUTERS, INTERNET & WiFI
The Library has computers with internet access available for public use. Also available in the Library is free WiFi.
SCANNING
The library provides a copier/scanner for patron use. There is a page charge of 25 cents per sheet.
MEETING ROOM
The library’s eeting room is available for use by groups and organizations for meetings, and other functions or educational purposes.
FAXING
There is a $1.50 fee for sending a fax.
TEST PROTORING
Proctoring services are available by appointment during regular library hours. We provide space to take written exams as well as public access or laptop computers for online exams.
